For those coming on the Communication Retreat this weekend, please note this addition to the flyer that has been handed out: There is water in the creek right now, so if you think you might want to get wet, bring a swimsuit and something to put on your feet (like water shoes or a spare pair of old tennis shoes).

• July 29-31 ~ Thursday-Saturday—Communication Retreat at the Harr’s Ranch. We will leave at 2:00 PM Thursday and return at 1:15 PM Saturday.

• Wednesday, August 4, TBA—Devo: Movie Night. We will go out to the movies, probably to see Inception. Time will be announced when the day gets closer. Meet at the Cinemark in Cedar Hill.

• Saturday, August 7, 21, & 28 ~ Saturday, 10:30-Noon—Youth Praise Team practice. The practice on the 28th is tentative and will only occur if Steve thinks extra practice is needed.
• Sunday, August 8, 11:15 AM—Confirmation Meeting. All confirmation participants and their parents need to be at this meeting.
• Friday, August 13, 6-9 PM—Devo. At the Hawkins’ house. We will have food, swimming, and a devotion. Bring some friends!
• Wednesday, August 18, 6-9 PM—Devo. Location TBA.
• Sunday, August 22, 11:15 AM—2011 Mission Trip meeting. Youth and parents are invited to come give your input on the 2011 mission trip next summer.
• Tuesday, August 24, 7:05 PM—Hope Lutheran Night at the Ballpark. Tickets needed to be bought by August 1.
• Sunday, August 29, 8 AM—Youth Praise Team leads worship both services.
• Sundays, 9:00 AM—Sunday school for middle and high school.

This weekend:

• Sunday, May 2, 9 AM—Sunday school hour, youth and adults are invited to go on a prayer walk around the surrounding neighborhood. During the prayer walk, we will be distributing door hangers for the National Day of Prayer. What is a prayer walk? It will look something like this:
  • Everyone will be divided into groups of 3-5 people and given a map of your prayer walk route.
  • You will be given door hangers for the national day of prayer.
  • Individually, you will walk up to a house, drop a door hanger, and say a short prayer of blessing for the house.
  • Anyone can do it!
• Sunday, May 2, 6-8 PM—Inner Mission at the Bengtson’s house. Come wrap up our year-long study of prayer.
