For those coming on the Communication Retreat this weekend, please note this addition to the flyer that has been handed out: There is water in the creek right now, so if you think you might want to get wet, bring a swimsuit and something to put on your feet (like water shoes or a spare pair of old tennis shoes).
Coming Soon:
- July 29-31 ~ Thursday-Saturday—Communication Retreat at the Harr’s Ranch. We will leave at 2:00 PM Thursday and return at 1:15 PM Saturday.
- Sunday, August 1, 9 AM – Sunday school.
- Wednesday, August 4, TBA—Devo: Movie Night. We will go out to the movies, probably to see Inception. Time will be announced when the day gets closer. Meet at the Cinemark in Cedar Hill.
In August:
- Saturday, August 7, 21, & 28 ~ Saturday, 10:30-Noon—Youth Praise Team practice. The practice on the 28th is tentative and will only occur if Steve thinks extra practice is needed.
- Sunday, August 8, 11:15 AM—Confirmation Meeting. All confirmation participants and their parents need to be at this meeting.
- Friday, August 13, 6-9 PM—Devo. At the Hawkins’ house. We will have food, swimming, and a devotion. Bring some friends!
- Wednesday, August 18, 6-9 PM—Devo. Location TBA.
- Sunday, August 22, 11:15 AM—2011 Mission Trip meeting. Youth and parents are invited to come give your input on the 2011 mission trip next summer.
- Tuesday, August 24, 7:05 PM—Hope Lutheran Night at the Ballpark. Tickets needed to be bought by August 1.
- Sunday, August 29, 8 AM—Youth Praise Team leads worship both services.
- Sundays, 9:00 AM—Sunday school for middle and high school.

- Wednesday, September 1—Confirmation Begins. Time will be decided on August 8 meeting.
- Friday-Saturday September 10-11—Confirmation Retreat. Details given out at August 8 meeting.

This weekend:
- Sunday, May 2, 9 AM—Sunday school hour, youth and adults are invited to go on a prayer walk around the surrounding neighborhood. During the prayer walk, we will be distributing door hangers for the National Day of Prayer. What is a prayer walk? It will look something like this:
- Everyone will be divided into groups of 3-5 people and given a map of your prayer walk route.
- You will be given door hangers for the national day of prayer.
- Individually, you will walk up to a house, drop a door hanger, and say a short prayer of blessing for the house.
- Anyone can do it!
- Sunday, May 2, 6-8 PM—Inner Mission at the Bengtson’s house. Come wrap up our year-long study of prayer.
Coming Up:
- Wednesday, May 5—Last regular Wednesday Night Schedule of the school year:
- 5:45 PM—Pizza Dinner ($3/person)
- 6:00-7:15—Confirmation (7-8th Grade)
- 7:30-8:30—Reconfirmed (H.S.)
- Tuesday, May 11, 6-9 PM (tentative, date subject to change)—Confirmand Evening Retreat for 8th Graders. Youth being confirmed May 16 will go over the Confirmation service and then go out to dinner at Macaroni Grill.
- Wednesdays, May 12, 19, & 26 ~ Interlude (Jr. High & H.S.). To help us transition between the school year and summer, come to “Interlude” on Wednesdays. We will watch portions of Rob Bell’s video, “The God’s Aren’t Angry,” every night. Come find out about the origins or worship and where religion came from. Schedule:
- 5:45 PM—Pizza Dinner ($3/person)
- 6:15-7:00—DVD & Discussion
- 7:00-8:00—Games and fellowship
- Sunday, May 16, 10 AM—Confirmation Sunday. 8th Graders will be confirmed at the 10 AM worship service. Confirmands need to be here at 9:30 AM.
- Sunday, May 23, 6:30-8 PM—Soul Emergence. A unique worship experience that gives your soul space to connect with God. Held at the church.
- Friday, May 28, 7-10 PM—Youth Night Out: Dodgeball. Come finish off the school year with one final round of dodgeball. Snacks and drinks served. Cost: $5.
- Sundays, 9:00 AM—Sunday school.
